compressed airCompressed gases and cylinders can be hazardous if it is not used, handled or stored properly. Special precautions have to be taken while working or transporting compressed gases and cylinders. Compressed gases cylinders pose a big threat as it can contain dangerous gases that are Flammable, Explosive, Corrosive and Poisonous. To prevent injuries and accidents, the Industrial Compressed Gas cylinders must be clearly identified and color coded depends on what type of gas it contains. Details of type of gas have to be mentioned on the cylinder and it have to be easy in identify, don’t rely only on color. Also, it is necessary that the gases have to be stored separately, mixture of gases can sometimes result in big blasts or poisonous air. Always shut the regulators/cylinder valves or keep it is sealed when it is not in use. Also, do regular inspection in order to safe operation.

Prior to connecting to any compressed air system employees are required to inspect the compressed air system, all hoses, equipment and tools to be used. In addition employees must empty drains and taps according to the adopted schedule.
